About Beyond Conflict
Since 2017, Beyond Conflict has been providing training and leadership programs for organizations seeking to deepen their capacity for building cultures of inclusion. From workshops on gender and racial justice, to New Manager training on DEI topics, to coaching circles for white leaders, Beyond Conflict designs workshops and learning processes that support organizations to strengthen their cultures in order to best support their missions.
Evangeline Weiss
Evangeline is a social change designer with over 20 years of community building and organizational development experience. From Tech companies to food justice coalitions, co-housing communities and universities, she has worked with numerous forward-thinking clients to create systems that are healthier and more just.
Evangeline got her start at the New York City Department of Health training social workers and emergency responders to give HIV pre and post-test counseling. She has worked in human resources and spent 5 years as the Director of Diversity & Equity for Duke University’s Office for Institutional Equity. Evangeline served as the leadership program director at the National LGBTQ Task Force.
Working internationally, she has a great deal of experience collaborating with interpreters and is also fluent in Spanish and French. Whether she’s facilitating a year-long change process or a 1-day workshop, Evangeline’s enthusiasm and passion for her work are evident. “I love sustaining leaders on a path towards purpose and impact.” She turned her television off in 1984 and occupies her time cooking, walking, making art.

Nicole Thomas
Nicole Thomas is a dynamic trainer, coach, speaker and facilitator centering racial and reproductive justice in her work. In 2013, Nicole pursued her interest in LGBTQ political organizing and legislative advocacy as Northeast Coordinator with Equality Ohio. In 2015, she co-founded Hack Cleveland, a collective focused on advancing social justice using technology. She also entered the philanthropic sector, managing a $12.7M grant portfolio at Cuyahoga Arts & Culture.
Nicole has created workshops, led trainings and facilitated discussions across the country, including the Lesbians Who Tech New York Summit, Cleveland TechUP Inclusion Summit and Career Fair, MoveOn.org Resist and Win National Summit, and United Church of Christ Authorizing Ministry for the 21st Century. She was honored to be a 2015 White House LGBTQ Tech and Innovation Fellow and was a 2017-18 Leadership Now Ohio fellow with Rockwood Leadership Institute.
Nicole’s clients include re:power (formerly Wellstone Action), Working Families Party, Planned Parenthood’s Black Organizing Program, and the ACLU of California. She currently works as an independent consultant with nonprofit and justice movement leaders on equity-centered strategic planning and embodied organizational development.
Heather Arnold-Renicker

Heather Arnold-Renicker has been a dedicated advocate for equity and inclusion since starting her career in 2002. Her early experiences ignited a deep commitment to anti-oppressive practice, which she further developed through her MSW studies at the University of Denver, where she is currently on faculty, focusing on policy, community organizing, leadership, and anti-oppressive practice.
Heather’s career has increasingly focused on DEIJ consulting and coaching, where she is passionate about facilitating meaningful change within communities and organizations. Her coaching philosophy centers on the principles of learning and action. She believes that sustainable progress in diversity, equity, and inclusion requires both deep learning and practical action. Through her work, Heather empowers organizations and individuals to engage in continuous learning, fostering an environment where understanding of systemic inequities can translate into concrete, actionable strategies.
